Libby and the Parisian Puzzle

Many of you will know that Jo Clarke (aka BookLoverJo) and I have been friends since I first started writing about books on the internet over 6 years ago. I have been in awe of her passion for books but even more so her dedication to making her dream of being a published author a reality. And this week her dream came true.

I have had the privilege of reading her first novel (in a series which has now been commissioned for book two) in it’s various early drafts and now I hold the finished copy in my hands. It really feels like magic! Book magic!

Let’s take a moment to unpick that sentence: her dream came true. That does not happen every day.

And what an absolutely brilliant sleuthing adventure Libby and the Parisian Puzzle by Jo Clarke is! I adore the characters of Libby and Connie and how their friendship develops as they uncover a mystery in the streets of Paris. The setting was well-evoked and reading this had me craving macarons, hot chocolates and the Paris skyline (as you can see I treated myself to macarons in celebration!).

Like following a trail of breadcrumbs, or can we make those macaron crumbs, this mystery is brilliantly fun to expose the true culprit of the crime with some great red herrings (the actual opposite on the taste spectrum of macarons) along the way. With sprinklings of humour, and a solid sense of truth and friendship at it’s heart, I can’t recommend this highly enough!

Warning: must be consumed alongside hot chocolate and macarons. It’s an actual necessity.

Happy sleuthing, reading and indulging in Parisian treats!
