Lore of the Wild
I hardly know where to start with this beautiful and fascinating book which is packed full of wonderful tales of nature from folklore. It’s hard to do Lore of the Wild by Claire Cock-Starkey & Aitch justice!
Working through tales of animals, birds, insects, flowers plants and trees and then looking at weather lore - there are stories from all around the world. With lots of hidden messages and morals, as you’d expect from folklore, this really is a fascinating compendium to enjoy in bursts of story. Unsurprisingly, we have read the entire bird section, and BookBairn loves the story of the King of the Birds - although she does find it a bit unjust!
This will no doubt be a book we read over and over, dipping into the stories, all autumn!
Happy Reading,
Kim x
